Trash 2 Treasures

16/2/2021

I belong to a mini club that is doing a trash 2 treasures challenge.
Have you ever participated in this kind of challenge?
I have over the years and it was great fun.   Some I was not happy with and they  went in that round storage container ( garbage can ) but a couple I kept.
Now I was not good at writing things down or keeping track of what we received so I will have to rely on memory............gad we could be in trouble here

This one was fun, quarter scale of course.    Back when mailing was much cheaper we had a box of "trash" sent to us.    We had to use at least 1 part of every item, we could use it all but at least a tiny bit.    We also were able to use a 6" squ piece of fabric of our choice and all the glue and paint we wanted.

Amongst the "trash" was a couple of pieces of BPF ( Brown Plastic Furniture ) back in the day before lasers and 3D printers they were what we had to work with.
We had a couple of toothpicks, you can see them painted black at the top of the steps, a pudding cup which I cut for the bed and the chairs by the fireplace, and that is probably a bit of the rim as a fire-screen.
There was some funny plastic bits which I turned into cushions on the bed and on the chairs.
I know there was about a 2" pieces of molded plastic brick and that went on the fireplace.
Plastic canvas is obvious, but there was also another piece of plastic which I cut for window frames and across the top of the walls to neaten them up.

The floor is painted cardstock while the upper part of the room is foam core with the paper pulled off and paint dry brushed across the "core".   The walls are a piece of real life textured wallpaper painted on the backside and dry brushed on the texture part for the outside of the walls.
There were other bits and pieces, a little bit of wood used here and there, a tiny pieces of cutable mirror and stuff looking at it in person I do not remember what it was.
I do know I enjoyed making it and I smile when I look at it.
Wish I had kept track of the year but only know it was before I moved up here so probably sometime around 2007.
